EdOdyssey Ranks No. 497 on the 2025 Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BOSTON, August 12, 2025Inc. magazine today revealed that EdOdyssey ranks No. 497 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing private, independently owned companies in the United States. This achievement places EdOdyssey among the Top 500 companies in the country and marks it as the 11th fastest-growing education company on the list—distinction that highlights the company’s exceptional growth, momentum, and impact in the field of study abroad and experiential learning.

The Inc. 5000 offers a data-driven look at the most successful organizations in the economy’s most dynamic segment: independent, entrepreneurial businesses. Past honorees include Microsoft, Meta, Chobani, Under Armour, Timberland, Oracle, and Patagonia.

“This is an incredibly meaningful milestone,” said Peter McGovern, Founder and CEO of EdOdyssey. “To start as a solopreneur and grow EdOdyssey into a company that has scaled not just in size and revenue, but in real-world impact, is incredibly special. Making the list in our 10th anniversary year—and cracking the Top 500—is a powerful affirmation of what we’ve built and a launchpad for where we’re headed next.”

Among the top 500 companies, the median three-year revenue growth rate reached 1,507%, and these companies added more than 52,805 jobs to the U.S. economy over the past three years.

“Making the Inc. 5000 is always a remarkable achievement, but earning a spot this year speaks volumes about a company’s tenacity and clarity of vision,” said Mike Hofman, Editor-in-Chief of Inc.

A Decade of Purposeful Growth

Founded in 2014, EdOdyssey has become a trusted partner to colleges, universities, and secondary schools nationwide, designing educational travel programs that combine academic rigor with transformative global experiences. The company offers short-term customizable programs, semester-long study abroad, and place-based First-Year Experience (FYE) programs, both domestically and abroad.

In 2025, EdOdyssey is launching an expanded short-term Program Portfolio to make it even easier for institutions to implement thoughtfully designed, high-impact travel experiences across more than 20 global destinations. Each program uses the real world as a classroom and to explore urgent themes such as climate justice, arts and architecture, global business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the future of work.

This year, the company also significantly expanded its scholarship access to ensure more students—especially those from historically underrepresented backgrounds—can participate.

“In a changing world, students and families are craving real-world learning that’s personal, purposeful, and prepares them for what’s next,” said Ben Polansky, Chief Operating Officer. “We’re proud to work with institutions that believe in the power of hands-on, human-centered learning. It’s not just about seeing the world—it’s about being changed by it.”

A Milestone with Meaning

“This recognition is a testament to our team, our partners, and the thousands of students whose lives have been touched by these experiences,” added McGovern. “The key to our growth has been staying grounded in our mission: to create life-changing educational journeys that drive both personal and community impact. As we look ahead, we’re doubling down on our belief that travel changes people—and people change the world. We’re proud to represent what’s possible when education, purpose, and entrepreneurship come together—and we share this milestone with our colleagues across the field who believe in the power of experiential learning.”
