Explore London as a city where centuries of history meet creativity, migration, innovation, and global influence.

Students experience iconic sites while going deeper into the people, neighborhoods, industries, and traditions that make London one of the world’s great global cities. Through theater, design, food, history, community engagement, and opportunities to navigate the city independently, students explore how London continually balances tradition and change, local identity and global connection.

7-10 Day Itinerary

A Program, Built to Be Customized

This itinerary uses London as a living classroom for exploring culture, creativity, history, design, and contemporary urban life.

Your school can customize the experience around performing arts, global studies, history, design, literature, media, community engagement, or other academic themes.

Activities listed below are examples and subject to availability and confirmation.


Day 1 | Welcome to London: Learn to Navigate a Global City

Arrive in London, meet your EdOdyssey Program Leader, and begin learning how to navigate the city.

Kick off the experience with an interactive Race Across the World-style challenge, introducing students to London’s neighborhoods, transportation, landmarks, and rhythms while building confidence and teamwork.

Gather for a traditional pub dinner and introduction to the experience ahead.

Day 2 | London Through the centuries: history, Power & reinvention

Explore the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, using two iconic sites to investigate London’s history, monarchy, power, architecture, and continual reinvention.

Then shift from historic London to its world-renowned creative culture with an evening in the West End, experiencing a live theater performance.

Day 3 | Windsor & British Traditions: Monarchy, Institutions & Identity

Travel outside central London to Windsor Castle and explore the history and traditions surrounding the British monarchy.

Return to London for afternoon tea before continuing past Buckingham Palace and through Covent Garden and the West End.

Students consider how historic institutions and traditions remain visible in modern British identity and public life.

Day 4 | Shakespeare & Storytelling: From the Globe to the Global Stage

Step inside Shakespeare’s Globe for a theater tour and hands-on workshop exploring performance, language, and storytelling.

Then head to Borough Market, where students explore in small groups while experiencing the food, culture, and energy of contemporary London.

The day connects one of Britain’s most influential writers with the creative, multicultural city that surrounds the Globe today.

Day 5 | Film, Media & Creative Industries: How stories become experiences

Explore the craft behind one of Britain’s most globally recognized film franchises through an immersive Warner Bros. Studio Tour London experience.

Go behind the scenes to investigate set design, costumes, props, visual storytelling, and the collaboration required to transform an idea into a finished production.

Finish with Monopoly Live, a playful interactive experience that brings another form of storytelling and entertainment to life in London.

Day 6 | Design & Community: Creativity with a purpose

Participate in a hands-on Design Museum workshop, exploring how designers identify problems, develop ideas, and create experiences or products for the people who use them.

Then move from design thinking into community engagement through a local service project, working alongside an organization responding to a community-identified need.

Students reflect on how creativity, collaboration, and leadership can be used to address real-world challenges.

Day 7 | London as a Global City: Neighborhoods, Migration & Everyday Life

Step away from London’s most famous landmarks to experience the city through one or more of its distinctive neighborhoods.

Explore how migration, food, music, religion, art, and local businesses have shaped contemporary London, and consider what it means for a city to be both deeply British and profoundly global.

Give students structured opportunities to navigate, observe, and explore in small groups before coming together to share what they discovered.

Day 8 | Taking London Home: Reflection & Departure

Gather for a final reflection connecting the different Londons students experienced: historic and contemporary, local and global, traditional and continually changing.

Students consider how their confidence and independence evolved as they learned to navigate a new city and culture.

Day 9-10 | Extend Your Experience: Go Deeper Into London

Longer programs can add experiences aligned with your students’ interests and academic focus.

Options might include additional theater workshops or performances, museums, creative-industry visits, expanded community engagement, multicultural neighborhood exploration, sports and entertainment, or additional student-led city challenges.
