Experience Global Business in One of the World’s Most Influential Business Cities

Designed for students in business, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, economics, management, and related fields, this immersive program explores London as a global center for finance, innovation, entrepreneurship, and international commerce.

Students experience London as a living business classroom through company visits, conversations with professionals, and field-based exploration of its financial districts, startup ecosystem, markets, and commercial neighborhoods. Along the way, they examine how organizations innovate, compete, build brands, lead across cultures, and respond to a changing global economy.

9-Day Itinerary

This itinerary shows what a London Global Business & Innovation program could look like. Specific company visits, guest speakers, workshops, and industry engagements will vary based on your dates, group size, academic goals, and local availability.

We’ll work with your faculty and study abroad team to adapt the experience to your course objectives and students. The program can emphasize finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, technology, sustainability, international business, or another course-aligned theme.

Day 1 | Arrival & Introduction to Global London

Arrive in London and begin exploring its role in the global economy.

Meet your EdOdyssey Program Leader, orient students to the city and how to navigate it, and explore the surrounding neighborhood. Gather for a welcome dinner introducing the program’s key business and cultural themes.

Day 2 | The City of London: Finance & Global Commerce

Explore the City of London and its role in global finance and commerce.

Trace the district’s history in banking, insurance, trade, and international commerce, then engage with a finance or business professional to examine how London’s historic institutions continue to shape global markets.

Day 3 | Finance, Fintech & Global Markets

Examine how technology is transforming financial services and London’s role in global markets.

Meet with professionals in finance, fintech, investment, or a related field to explore digital transformation, regulation, capital markets, and changing consumer expectations. Students consider how established financial institutions and emerging companies respond to disruption and innovation.

Day 4 | Startups, Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Explore London’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and how new ideas become businesses.

Visit a startup, accelerator, innovation hub, or meet with entrepreneurs and business leaders to examine how new ventures identify opportunities, develop business models, attract investment, build teams, and scale. Students consider what makes London a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Day 5 | Brands, Retail & Customer Experience

Turn London’s commercial neighborhoods into a field laboratory for branding and consumer behavior.

Explore how global brands, independent businesses, and emerging companies compete through branding, design, storytelling, and customer experience. Students conduct structured observations and compare how different organizations communicate value and respond to changing consumer behavior.

Day 6 | Independent London Business Field Study

Explore London independently while applying business concepts in the field.

In small groups, students complete a faculty-designed business field assignment, investigating an industry, comparing brands, analyzing customer experiences, exploring a commercial neighborhood, or examining a course-related business challenge. The day gives students greater ownership of the city while turning independent exploration into applied learning.

Day 7 | Leadership & The Global Workplace

Explore what it means to lead and manage in a global workplace.

Meet with business professionals or organizational leaders to examine workplace culture, communication, talent, organizational structure, and leadership. Students consider how companies manage teams and customers across cultures and geographic boundaries.

Day 8 | The Future of Global Business

Explore the forces reshaping global business, from AI and digital transformation to sustainability and changing consumer expectations.

Students synthesize what they’ve learned from London’s companies, professionals, neighborhoods, and markets through a final presentation, business challenge, or faculty-led discussion. Conclude the program with a farewell dinner.
