Boston Area Weekend Excursions
Discover beautiful Portland Maine in the Fall! Our time in Portland will be spent exploring the city and learning about its arts and history as one of the oldest settlements in the United States. On Saturday you will have the opportunity to take a guided walking tour through town and visit a local museum. On Sunday, you will have the chance to explore outside of downtown and experience Maine’s natural beauty, followed by a visit to the oldest lighthouse in the state!

Friday: Traveling from Boston, MA to Portland, ME
Depart in the evening at 7:00 PM, arriving at the hotel for check in and relaxation time.
Saturday: Get to Know Portland’s History and Arts Scene!
This day will be spent taking a guided walking tour of downtown Portland and visiting the Portland Art Museum.
Enjoy local fare on the water at one of Portland’s best known restaurants for lunch!
In the evening, the group will have dinner and meet with student and staff representatives at the Roux Institute, a graduate and research campus of Northeastern University!
Return to the hotel for relaxation time.
Sunday: Enjoy Portland’s Beauty and Learn About Its Maritime History!
Take a tour on a train ride through the Portland and Casco Bay area.
Visit the Portland Head Light lighthouse.
Return to Boston in the afternoon. Arriving at 4:00 PM.
